What Is RSS?
RSS is Really Simple Syndication — an easy way to stay up-to-date with the latest content from your favorite Web sites. Instead of always visiting a site to see what's new, you simply subscribe to an RSS feed to get the latest updates delivered right to you.
BackPocket offers RSS feeds of our
latest front page headlines as well as the
latest comments submitted by readers. You can even create your own custom RSS feeds from BackPocket search results.
How Do I Use RSS?
You'll need an RSS "reader" or "aggregator" to subscribe to the RSS feed you're interested in. Various readers/aggregators are available; some are programs you download and install on your computer, and others are Web applications you access online. The latest versions of many Web browsers even have built-in RSS readers.
If your Web browser has built-in RSS support, that's the easiest way to get started with RSS. Look for the RSS icon
designating an RSS feed link. Simply click that link, and your Web browser should display the current content from the feed. From there, you can subscribe or bookmark the feed. Your Web browser may provide additional options such as notification of new content. Consult the appropriate documentation for details.
